 The Hacienda Del Alamo Golf Resort is situated near to the
village of Fuente Alamo and is currently the longest golf course
in Spain at 6,724 metres and PGA tour player Miguel Angel
Jimenez claims that this is potentially the best course in Spain.
The resort includes excellent practise facilities with a two tier
driving range, two putting greens and a 6 hole practise course
measuring 1252 metres in length.
The clubhouse facilities are temporary at present but future plans
include not only completion of the new clubhouse but another 18
hole course which is currently under construction, restaurants,
bars, swimming pool,5 star hotel, spa, equestrian centre and 13
tennis courts all of which will be completed by the end of 2008.

"This course is most definitely for the lower handicap golfer and longer
hitter amongst us although there is no punishing rough for the higher
handicap players and ladies they will find themselves 'thrashing away'
with long irons and woods due to the overall length of the course.
Newcomers to the course will be intrigued by the areas of 'waste'
bunker that line most of the fairways.
The course is well protected by bunkers and my one observation is that
high flying shots into the bunkers tend to 'plug' below the level of the
sand making good recovery shots difficult.
There are not too many water hazards on the course but avoid them at
all costs.
For the energetic golfers amongst us the course is relatively flat and
not too difficult a walk other than the overall length of the course.
Although the clubhouse is temporary in nature it is better than most
similar temporary structures but do not be surprised by the level of the
bar prices for drinks and snacks because this is a resort."

Directions:
This course can be a little difficult to find but follow these
directions and you should find the golf course without too many
problems.
Exit the AP7 motorway at junction 782 onto the C-3319 in the
direction of Balsicas and Murcia and stay on this road for approx
8km until you see an exit signposted for Roldan.
Take this exit and continue on this road in the general direction of
Fuente Alamo and Balsapintada passing through the villages of
Lo Ferro, Roldan and Balsapintada to a roundabout and immediately
before the bridge is a slip road to the right to the Tanatario which can
not be missed because it is ORANGE in colour and immediately before
the crossroads there are signs for the golf course and just follow this
road and turn right with the entrance to the course a short distance
only away, although the internal road is quite long leading to the course.
