Serena Golf: This golf resort is located close to Los Alcazares and the waters
of the Mar Menor and San Javier airport are only 10 minutes away and
it is only a short drive to cities such as Murcia, Cartagena and the
world famous La Manga.
The course itself 'wraps' around the 500 year old Torre del Rame
which was built to keep watch for pirates from North Africa.
The facilities include clubhouse, restaurant and excellent practice
areas with plans for shops, hotels, spa's and tennis courts in the
near future.
The course is an excellent test of golf with water hazards on
sixteen of eighteen holes but will not suit golfers who's natural
shot is short in length with a left to right ball flight because that
is where the water is located.
The clubhouse facilities are superb BUT yet again the bar
prices are very high!

Say's: "This really is one of those courses that you have to play if you get
the opportunity while holidaying in the area.
The golf course was designed by former Spanish Ryder Cup player
Manuel Pinero and boy does it show with water hazards present on
sixteen of the eighteen holes.
While this may appear at first appear to be a golfers nightmare, to be
honest for golfers of an average standard, the water hazards are only
actually in play for six holes and on the others they are more of an
aesthetic feature.
The course is not particularly long at 5884 metres from the yellow tees
and 4923 metres from the ladies tees but the 'bail out' areas are small
and golfers will need to plot their way around the course."

Directions: Take exit 790 off the AP7 and follow signs for Los Alcazares.
Immediately next to the motorway you will find a small roundabout
and you should take the first exit which at present leads to another
smaller roundabout within 50 metres and this leads to a service
road which runs parallel to the AP7 in the direction of Cartagena.
Follow the service road for approx 1km and turn left at the next
roundabout and after approx 0.5km you will see the entrance to the
clubhouse on your left hand side.
Please note that direction instructions upon leaving the AP7 at exit
790 are subject to change at short notice as the roadworks and
construction are a work in progress.
