 Roda
Golf opened it's doors to the public on
June 30th 2006. The 18-hole par 72
(6,137 metres) golf course was designed by Dave
Thomas, one of the most prestigious European golf
designers. He said that he was very satisfied with
his ability to transform a practically level land into a waved
golf course. Lakes have been located in strategic places and
the layout was created by combining different environments and
working with and adaptation to the Mediterranean landscape and
vegetation.
The Golf Course Designer, Dave Thomas
Limited, has been fortunate in this project to be
able to import sufficient fill to change flat
low-lying ground into interesting and undulating
golf terrain which aims to be pleasing to the eye
and challenging for the golfers. Roda Golf's use of lakes optimize the views from the
hotel and country club as well as playing an
important part in the golf design. Roda Golf has
quite rightly placed a great deal of emphasis on
landscaping and tree planting and this has been
integrated with considerable care into the golf

practice.

The Course
has opened initially with a temporary
clubhouse and has a practice area, putting green
and driving range. The permanent clubhouse,
practice area and retail facilities are expected
to be open in early Summer of 2007. The new The De Vere hotel aims to be completed by Summer
2008. Roda Golf Resort offers a careful
selection of recreational facilities and a variety
of supplementary services to meet all the
residents' needs. In the future there will be a
driving range, 5 tennis courts, a number of
community swimming pools, playgrounds and sports
such as paddle tennis. The resort will also boast
a 5 star DeVere hotel and wellness centre, cycling
and walking courses, boutiques, shops,
restaurants, bars and it's own beach club. The
bustling town of Los Alcázares is just 2 minutes away.

 Extending
over 1,000,000 m², Roda Golf and Beach Resort not only
features an 18-hole par 72 golf course but will
also have it's own private beach club (accessed by
the resort’s own water taxi). Roda has acquired a
new property located on the Mar Menor which will
